Who

Fortian is a Maryland small business. We're cybersecurity experts and specialists in integrating green computing into your network infrastructure. Our owner-employees each have more than 15 years of IT infrastructure experience on networks with 50,000 nodes and hundreds of thousands of interfaces. We all have more than ten years of UNIX administration and IP network operations experience.

We specialize in on-call and proactive system and network engineering on networks of all sizes. We provide our employees' expertise to clients ranging from small businesses to the Federal government.

We design secure systems and focus on network security from the Internet drop all the way to the host. We also perform IT engineering services and have a strong background in highly-available mission-critical core services.

All of our engineers have a strong background in communications and security on today's Internet, and have years of experience working with "five-nines" Service Level Agreements on nationwide networks and large clusters of systems. We are just as comfortable working with systems located halfway around the world as we are with networks located near our national headquarters in Laurel, Maryland.

Fortian specializes in two main areas:

• computer installation and repair, and maintenance of computers
• installation of computer software; maintenance of computer software; consulting services in the field of design, selection, implementation and use of computer hardware and software systems for others, including performance tuning and custom programming services

In other words, we're experts in deploying and maintaining UNIX-based systems and IP networks, starting from specifying the best components for the task at hand, through bare metal installation, all the way to ongoing operations, administration, and maintenance.

During this process, we can deploy your software, create custom software solutions, maintain both our software and third-party software components, choose the best software on the best hardware, deploy the solution, and optimize it to best address your workload.
